Douglas International Airport
Charlotte, North Carolina

[Monday - 11/11/02] and [Monday - 11/18/02] We all met at Charlotte's Douglas International Airport for the start of our Irish adventure. Bran flew up from Charleston and everyone else drove down from Asheville. While we did have to fly through London's Gatwick Airport, we were lucky enough to get a flight right in to Dublin to start our tour, which was a wonderful break.

Charlotte's Douglas International Airport is the 23rd busiest airport in the United States and serves more than 21 million passengers each year. To my surprise, the airport has been in operation since 1937. It is currently the largest hub of the US Airways system which is why we find it so useful. USAirways being our airline of choice! So far, for all three of the big Corvus tours to the United Kingdom and Ireland, we've started each journey on USAir and from Charlotte.
